Welcome to Progress Pathways!
We believe that...
When kids get the support they need,
they make the progress that matters,
giving them more opportunities to
THRIVE.

We also believe that our Paediatric Speech Pathologists should be able to build a career development pathway that they feel excited about AND that allows them to make meaningful progress in their own life.
Hiring for... senior paediatric speech pathologist:
Let’s skip right to the most important part:
Our team is growing and we require a full time Senior Paediatric Speech Pathologist to support this growth.
Does this caseload seem like your perfect match?
- You have at least 10 years of experience in supporting a paediatric Speech Pathology caseload.
- You feel really confident in your knowledge of the NDIS, and competent in supporting children (and their families) who are accessing the NDIS.
- In your career to date, you have developed competencies in a wide range of Speech Pathology presentations. It would be advantageous to have had experience in literacy, eating and drinking difficulties, AAC, dysfluency and communication intervention for children with developmental speech and language. You would feel comfortable supporting a neurodiverse caseload.
- You are passionate in taking a family-focused approach, and supporting other clinicians to do the same.
- You have experience in supervision of more junior Speech Pathologists.
- It excites you to develop core clinical competencies for junior Speech Pathologists and helping them to become excellent clinicians.
- You want to continue building your own clinical and leadership skills, and are excited by the idea of supporting your own caseload of clients for whom you are their ‘best fit’ clinician. We have scope to tailor a caseload to your specific interest and experience!
Hi! ???? I’m Bec, the Managing Director.
I’m definitely biased… but I’m pretty sure we are one of the best places for allied health professionals to work.
SPOILER ALERT: THIS MIGHT BE THE LONGEST JOB ADVERTISEMENT YOU WILL EVER READ... That's because we are committed to being super clear on who we need on our team, because our team is REALLY important to us.
We started Progress Pathways in February of 2022 and have built a fantastic team in that time.
We have been supported by our absolutely fantastic Senior Speech Pathologist, Jane, over this time. Jane has a passion for family-centred care and a deep experience in feeding challenges. She has been part-time with Progress Pathways, while also progressing her hospital-based clinical experience in a role at QCH.
As our Speech Pathology team has grown, we are requiring a full-time Senior Speech Pathologist to lead the team.

Let’s talk about the good stuff:
1. Our team has the best vibe…
and you can be guaranteed that we will only extend an invitation for you to join the team if we think you will be a great fit. We say YES to big laughs, real conversations and Mexican food and NO to unnecessary drama.
2. The work is fun (and you won’t get bored!)
You will probably spend most of your work hours in our gorgeous (spacious!) clinic in Kedron, but you can also mix it up with some local school / kindy / daycare / home visits as you see fit. This is not a job where you will be spending hours on the road.

3. We are not big on stress.
So, while you will be someone who naturally wants to work efficiently and get things done, our focus is on open communication and clear expectations so you know what it looks like to absolutely nail it in your role. We are growing our team for the long term, so we don’t want you to burn out. Not today, not this week, not this month… never!
4. We have an “Unlimited CPD” Policy…
We want to invest in you for the long term. If you are hitting your goals in your role then we will pay for any CPD that you want to do!
5. You’ll have professional support.
Whether you are looking for clinical support or leadership support, we can guarantee you will be well supported at Progress Pathways. Current Senior Speech Pathologist Jane Oswell will continue with her caseload two days per week and is always up for a conversation about how to best support a child. Senior Occupational Therapist Dawn Egan is also passionate about learning and clinical excellence. She will collaborate with you to ensure excellent support of our Progress Pathways families. Managing Director Bec (Hi! It's Me!) will support you in everything pertaining to managing and leading a team.
6.
You’ll be incredibly well resourced!
We have lots of resources onsite, and our resource library is always growing based on YOUR recommendations.
We bet you have some questions.
We will try to read your mind about what they might be…
We take a different approach at Progress Pathways.
Rather than a set target everyone must hit every single day, we tailor your workload to meet your individual capacity and experience level. The time required to support the Speech Pathology team will be factored in when developing your caseload.
Our team is incredibly important to us. You can learn more about the individual members of our team on our website. This would be an ideal position for you if you LOVE collaborating with other paediatric healthcare professionals to support the progress of the kids and families you are supporting. If you look forward to seeing friendly faces when you come to work each day, you will LOVE this position.
This would NOT be your ideal position if you are a bit of a ‘lone wolf’ and love spending hours on the road doing mobile visits, or tons of telehealth from home.
Very little. Your role will be largely clinic based, as a key component of your role would be to support the team onsite.
Absolutely not.
Your salary will be:
- Aligned with your level of experience.
- Dependent on your desire for full time / part time caseload.
- Above Award rates. We value our staff!
- $110000-125000, including superannuation.
- With the opportunity to earn bonus leave just from doing your normal job.
We are focused on creating opportunities for career development within our growing organisation.
Now, let’s talk about the job requirements:
1. You need to be the type of person who understands that there is something to learn from every child, and something to love about every family you work with.
We don’t expect you to know everything, and we don’t expect you to be “perfect”. We do expect you to learn from the children and families you support, lean on your team to share ideas for improvement and keep an “always learning” approach to the work you do.
2. You are capable of managing your time.
We are not interested in micro-managing any of our team members. We will support you, give suggestions when it’s appropriate and be clear about expectations so you can know how to thrive… but we won’t be checking in on your every move, because that’s not how our team works!
3. You’ll provide quality Speech Pathology to each child you work with.
Families love working with you because you use your clinical skills to develop and implement a plan for the progress of their child (with ample support from Senior team members, as required!) You practise being Dedicated, Playful and an Intelligent Communicator every day (these are our Key Characteristics).
4. You know that every session counts.
You know the time with your kids is valuable, and you are prepared to make every session count on their Progress Pathway. It’s not just about doing something that looks fun, it’s about helping kids make meaningful progress towards their goals - and you are here for it!
5. You are willing to Pitch In
You support your team mates, and you know you will be supported as well!
6. You embrace diversity.
You know that the Progress Pathways families and members of your work team may be of a different culture, ethnicity, gender expression, sexuality, brain wiring, religion… or different from you in one of a thousand other ways, and you are committed to seeking to understand and welcome those differences.
7. And obviously you need to be a university-educated Speech Pathologist who is registered with Speech Pathology Australia and able to work in Queensland, Australia…
... but you already knew that, right?
You've made it to the end of what might have been the longest job advertisement in history...
Well done! What do you think? Are we your people??? We sure hope so.
If you would like to apply, there is important information below...
Our team works well by following systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detail-oriented and can follow procedures, when you apply for this position please include “Bec! It’s me you are looking for!” in the subject line, or cover letter.
(Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks, like you, who are truly interested in this position.)
We are looking to bring our new Speech Pathologist on board as soon as possible (the kids are waiting!)
That being said, we will spend the necessary time to find the best fit both in abilities and culturally.
